Standards - Guidelines - Dimensions - Tolerances
A number of standards and guidelines describe the dimensions, tolerances and production procedures.
Many of these standards are relatively old. With modern production processes, significantly lower tolerances can frequently be achieved. For this reason, Nocado has introduced its own, lower tolerance specifications particularly for the components in the nocaplus and nocasept lines in order to satisfy today's expectations for demanding applications.
Sometimes, in practice, designations are selected although they are no longer valid. This frequently results in incorrect orders and components which do not fit optimally at installations. For example, when a DN 50 pipe is ordered in conformance with DIN 11850 Series 2, a pipe with the inside diameter of 49 mm and a wall thickness of 1.5 mm is desired. However, according to the current standards, DIN 11850 Series 2, such a pipe has an inside diameter of 50 mm and a wall thickness of 1.5 mm. A pipe with an inside diameter of 49 mm and a wall thickness of 1.5 mm is no longer listed in the current DIN 11850 ff.
Of course, Nocado will still produce and supply such components on request of our customers. These components are listed in the catalogue with the additional note "similar to DIN …" in order to indicate that, although they are (still) common on the market, they no longer correspond to a DIN standard. At Nocado "similar to …" means that the production processes and tolerances specified in DIN are still observed to the full extent, where applicable.
